S c a r l e t k i t ;;

As the almost-full moon began to rise above the horizon, a small ginger-and-white tabby appeared. She was but a shadow due to lack of light, and the fact that she hid amongst the bare branches of the trees. She was now seven moons of age, and had yet to be made an apprentice, no thanks to the blatantly awful leadership skills of Whitestar. The kit was embittered towards him and the rest of ShadowClan, and felt no loyalty toward it. A better life lay out there for her, one where she would die for her Clan without question, she could almost feel it! But that future would not be true should she stay in this Clan.

Remaining low to the ground, she slunk across the clearing, pasing to make sure no one had spotted her. Ah, finally! After all those moons of being stuck inside that freaking nursery, she was free as a bird. She could easily be a loner as her mother had been and be free to do as she pleased .. but that wasn't the life she wanted. Scarletkit wished to serve in a Clan, under a noble leader and the nobility of StarClan, whom she believed in so greatly. It hadn't been made quite clear to her why she had chosen to go to WindClan in search of a better life, perhaps because she had always dreamed of racing across the rolling moore lands. Whatever the reason, it was where she knew she belonged.

The scent of WindClan was now everywhere, Scarlet knew that she had just passed the border. It smelled horrible to her, but in time, she knew she would grow quite used to it. Perhaps even realize that ShadowClan is the mose foul-smelling Clan in all of the forest. Walking blindly across the plains, by some miracle, she came upon the WindClan camp. There was no turning back.

[b]"Hello?" Asked the pretty she-kit, her eyes wide and her heart beating quite loudly. Suppose she was turned away, or worse, attacked? There was no way she could defend herself... especially against trained warriors. Fear and anticipation welling inside her heart, Scarletkit sat down and waited, waited for some WindClan cat to come along and find her.

Pantherclaw looked up as her small Bengal body carried itself around camp. So much was running through her head, at the moment - find the medicine cat. Congratulate Dappledleaf on the birth of her kits. find help for Cheetahpaw. FInd Littlestar, wherever he's gone off to. She was in somewhat of a daze, but the scent of ShadowClan in her camp snapped her out of it immediately.

Darting across camp, talons bared, she hunted out the intruder, but found no cats who looked unfamiliar. Her eyes raced wildly from place to place, her nose carrying her toward the scent as it continued to grow stronger. That is, until she zipped right past the fact of an apprentice-aged feline who carried her neighboring Clan's scent - but something wasn't right, here.

Pantherclaw stopped immediately, trotting back the short distance to Scarletkit. The bengal feline eyed the ginger-and-white tabby curiously, thinking a moment before she spoke.

"Are you lost, dear?" she asked the young ShadowClan femme, her tone light and inquisitive. Pantherclaw sat down just in front of her, long, spotted tail waving behind her.

ooc// Sorry for the shortness...we're having company in an hour, and my dad wants me to do /more/ chores. x.x

Auburn eyes followed a spotted, muscular looking she-cat very curiously. She seemed quite angry, and there was no doubt in Scarletkit's mind that it was her scent which upset the feline. Oh StarClan .. what a mess she had gotten herself into this time? Would she live to tell the tale? Perhaps Pantherclaw had some extreme disliking of all cats ShadowClan, and would kill her despite the fact that she was a harmless kit.

The deputy came closer, finally noticing that she was there, and spoke to her. The ginger kitten's ears were plastered to her head, and her coat bristled in fear. "N-n-no." Scarlet finally managed to squeak, her tiny voice trembling. This warrior was so magnificent, and could easily kill her with one swift flick of a claw!

She dipped her head politely, straightening up a bit. "I .. uh .. left my Clan. I want to live in a Clan that I can be loyal to, and I just couldn't in ShadowClan! I'm seven moons old, and still a kit. No one acknowledges my existance. Please don't hurt me, I just want to speak with the leader and ask if I may join WindClan."

Pantherclaw looked down, for a minute, at Scarletkit's inquiry of the leader of WindClan. Oh StarClan... she thought, contemplating what to do for a moment before looking back to the young, ex-ShadowClan kit. Littlestar made me deputy for a reason. I'll explain, if we find him soon... the Bengal warrior processed, before smiling and giving Scarletkit a quick, friendly flick on the shoulder.

"You're looking at her," she responded with a smile. Well, temporarily, for now... Pantherclaw said to herself before continuing. "WindClan values our warriors, they are like family. That, and I could never turn away one so young, so innocent," Pantherclaw gave a friendly wink at this. "You have a loyal heart, I can tell. You'll be assigned a mentor at the next meeting, I can promise you that. Welcome to WindClan," The deputy concluded, rubbing her scent on Scarletkit to welcome her.

ooc// ^^ I'm giving Pantherclaw the "temporary leader" role, for now, since she hasn't been to the Moonstone, yet.

Scarletkit stared in awe as Pantherclaw introduced herself as the leader. She was actually speaking to the leader of a Clan! Wow! After hearing of her motives in WindClan, the young warrior seemed to lighten up considerably, and actually give off quite a welcoming air. All this time, she had nothing to be scared about, and it now became clear to her that she wouldn't be hurt.

The ginger kit's heart filled with joy as she was accepted into WindClan. Finally, a chance to prove her loyalty. She was already fiercely fond of this Clan, due to the fact that they had quite a welcoming leader. Perhaps other cats in the Clan would be as nice. "Thank you so much!" Beamed the kit as WindClan scent wasa rubbed into her fur. It was official-- she was now a member of this Clan. "I promise, I'll try my hardest at all times... I won't let you down!" At the thought of having a mentor, Scarletkit's grin only grew wider. "Wow, a mentor? I will train my best, I will please my mentor as well! By the way, I'm Scarletkit."

"Pleasure to meet you, Scarletkit," Pantherclaw replied fondly. "I can tell already that your mentor will be lucky to have you." To her, WindClan was a collaboration of felines who were both friends and family - this was all she'd ever known, and would thus be all she'd ever know to pass on.

Pantherclaw leaned in toward Scarletkit before continuing. "Between you and me, I don't have my leader's name, yet," she said, looking briefly in the direction of the Moonstone, "But that will change, come tonight. I'm Pantherclaw, by the way," the deputy stated, sitting up in full again.

ooc// She's off to the Moonstone, now. ^^ Sorry this was short-lived...Panther holds onto her friends, though. xD

Scarletkit grinned. Never before in her life had another cat been so nice to her, and this was the leader none the less. But she highly doubted that any cat would want her as an apprentice, since she was barely even Clan born. Just as she went into labor, her mother arrived in ShadowClan... and originating from ShadowClan alone would have been bad enough. She would probably be an outcast. Nodding, she made a note of the name; Pantherclaw. As she looked the she-cat over, the kitten realized that it fit her quite well. "Good luck!" Said she with enthusiasm. Now it was time to discover WindClan on her own.
