It had been ages since Halfpaw had been out of the Medicine Cat's Den. It was as if Basilstorm and herself had truly become best friends at this point. Storms were happening lately and cold still clung to her in this summer season, and it only made her condition worth. According to Halfpaw, there was no point in staying in the Medicine Cat's Den at this point. It was the same inside as outside. Plus, Halfpaw knew that she should stop running away and just enjoy life since she wasn't going to last much longer. It was a common fact to her and she had to learn how to accept it. There was no point in thinking otherwise. Fate was fate.

Sighing, her eyes met with the horizon: pink and rouge were the vivid colors in the distant sky as black dove into it overhead. Rain was falling and chilling her bones through and through. The clouds full of rain made the sky darker and depressing at this point. Halfpaw didn't mind it much. Her white fur shifted as she sat down, her tabbied and mottled tail curling slowly around her paws. Golden eyes look around as the fragile she-cat took in the scents around her. She couldn't say it was familiar since she rarely came anywhere besides the ThunderClan camp. She hadn't even been to a Gathering in her life. But she had rarely any regrets.

Her only regret was one word: Eaglewing. He was a handsome tomcat with the most gorgeous olive-green eyes, at least to her. Unlike others, he took a liking to her and a friendship soon began. He even helped her with training, ignoring her sickness. He took her in as a friend and Clanmate when no one else did. Her only regret was the feelings that she felt toward that noble tom. He died several moons ago and she still found it to be her fault. She swore it must have been her sickness spreading to him by getting too close. There wasn't anything that she could do about it now. Personally, she figured that he may have spent the time with her to be kind and that it was a blessing that he died when he could. “You don't want to watch me die,” she spoke under her breath as she slightly collapsed, breathing heavily. She was up a moment later, staring up at Silverpelt as if looking for her friend's star. He'd give her the strength to live for a few more days or maybe a moon, she believed. After all, he was watching over her still.

Despite being over fifteen moons old and caring the name ending 'paw', Halfpaw was a calm and mature cat. But even so, she looked to be only eight moons by her deathly condition: slight ribs showing and bruises up and down the body, mostly on her legs. It wasn't anyway to live, but could be comforting to on-lookers and predators since she couldn't defend herself. Slowly tilting her head to the side, she saw Cloudedkit. Most cats, even older than her, may have gone into shock or threatened the misbehaving kitten. Halfpaw just gave her a motherly smile, closing her yellow eyes as she did so.

“Why hello there,” she spoke gently in her high soprano tone. She still didn't know the scents of the Clans and only could tell that the kitten didn't smell of ThunderClan. “What brings you out here?”
