 Leafpelt [of] ThunderClan
« Thread Started on Jul 21, 2007, 8:11am »

Name: Leafpelt

Gender: She-cat

Clan: ThunderClan

Rank: Deputy

Age: 24 moons

Quick Des.: calico she-cat

Quick Personality: kind caring she-cat

Description: Leafpelt is calico she-cat. When her pelt is felt, it feels like the very soft feathers of young birds, even though her fur looks sleek, not soft. Her pelt is a mix of a bit of black, an olive-brown color, with white and a few splotches of brown that evens the colors all out. She has kind eyes, a sweet look, but she seems bred for defense. She has shining green eyes with a gold ring around her pupil. Leafpelt has sharp claws, matching her sometimes stern personality. She is has also been called beautiful many times, and that sort of compliment flatters her. Leafpelt is strongly built, not being too lanky or weak to fight. Her fur isn’t short, but it isn’t long; she is smooth-furred. Her fur seems to have started to grow longer; it makes Leafpelt look beautiful. Leafpelt has no permanent scars on her, though she has had many harsh gashes from fighting; and once her back left leg had been damaged very badly by a badger, but the medicine cat managed to heal it as best as she could. But if Leafpelt ever hurt it very hard again, she might have permanent wounds there. When Leafpelt was younger, she had very creamy colored fur, with stripes of dark colors. When she was a moon old, specks of the other colours came. Leafpelt's mother had been a different shade of calico; with splotches of orange, white, and brown. Which Leafpelt's father had been a tabby with three shades of stripes- black, dark brown and a lighter brown. The mix of her parents' furs created Leafpelt's common yet unique color. Leafpelt is a very good swimmer, for she had been taught by her first mentor, who was a former RiverClan cat.

Personality: Leafpelt is a kind cat, but she can be in a very bad mood. She loves going for walks at night, usually staying up long and getting up early but with plenty of energy. Leafpelt loves to joke around, being a very social cat. Sometimes, randomly, she feels and acts sad, sometimes because of her past, but sometimes she keeps her true thoughts a secret. Leafpelt likes to keep secrets, mostly her feelings, she never felt to open to her friends, in case they ever became enemies, Leafpelt never wanted her secrets out to the other cats, so she kept to herself. Leafpelt is a good cat to talk to; she likes to help cats solve their problems, since she has a good way with words. Leafpelt needs friends; she doesn’t always act too well as a loner. When she was younger she hated being alone, but now she sometimes needs her own space more often. Leafpelt is nice to all cats, but she can play rough with the cats she knows better. She makes sure to obey the warrior code, but sometimes she’s careless and makes a mistake. Leafpelt have self esteem swings.. sometimes she'll think she did the wrong thing and is a danger, while at other times, she'll think no cat could have thought of better, or she mostly just stays in the middle of the 'bar', taking pride at certain things she accomplished.

History: Leafpelt comes from a long line of loyal, pure-clan born warriors. But when she was born, her parents where killed by loners, leaving Leafpelt near a small cave-like rock very close to two-leg territory. She was raised by an unknown cat, where she grew up in the rock where her parents left her. Leafpelt's mysterious foster parent disappeared when she turned four moons, and she went to a clan. She didn't remember what the cat that raised her had looked like, or the cats name, but she wished she could someday meet them and thank them. Where Leafpelt wandered into Thunderclan territory, she kept her name, the clan leader thinking it suited her well and she also to Leafpelt that this was her clan; for her parents had lived here. Leafpelt had two mentors; her first was a kind she-cat who was Leafpelt’s best friend. They acted like sisters, but she had moved clans because she later found out her family was there. Leafpelt grew very sad at the loss of her friend, but she slowly got over it when she had gotten a tom as her mentor. He wasn’t much older than her, and Leafpelt was almost ready to become a warrior. She had very slight feelings for him, but of course no one knew. One last training day, before Leafpelt would have become warrior, the two went hunting. A ShadowClan patrol had run into them, and a fight broke out. Her mentor was brutally hurt, and Leafpelt was also. She had attempted to bring his body back to camp, so he could live, but she had been to weak from the loss of blood. She then had pulled both of them very slowly towards camp, but was found by her clan's patrol. Her mentor had gone to StarClan, but Leafpelt was just very hurt. Sometimes, even now, Leafpelt blames herself for the death of the only cat she’s ever had feelings for, even though they hadn’t had the chance to be whole. Leafpelt tried hard to forget him, and she only really starts to remember him and everything else she lost on a few days of a certain time of the year. Her warrior days passed almost without inncident. She had no idea what she did to become deputy, but it happened.

IC*: Rain drops glistened on the grass in the early morning sun. The forest was silent except for the sound of the wind dancing through the trees. The calico she-cat crept along, her belly soaked. She hated the water, but she couldn't really do anything about it. The mouse was nibbling on a seed, just sitting there minding its own business. While the mouse ate its last meal, Leafpelt pounced on it. With a swift blow to the neck it went limp. She took it up in her mouth and smiled. Suddenly she dropped the mouse. It was her former mentor's favorite food. "No," she thought. "Time to get on with life.”

*DECLINED!

ThunderClan isn't accepting ANY new members.

And if you're stupid enough to NOT understand that we already HAVE a ThunderClan deputy, and to not notice that you didn't even add the codeword, then I'm not even bothering to correct this bio.

Well I'm sorry it said only kits and apprentices were banned before

Quote:
SIGN-UP BANS:
Old members are no longer allowed to make bios until we switch sites.

New Members are allowed to make 1 character, that follows the rest of the ban rules for the Clans.

- ThunderClan (kits, apprentices)
- RiverClan (none)
- ShadowClan (none)
- WindClan (none)

and on the post Current Clans it said that the ThunderClan deputy spot was open!

This site is great, you are the one that is stupid!

I can't believe you are that dumb to talk to me like that!

How dare you. You have obviously not been on a warriors proboards site before, as most sites are VERY strict about respect to staff. I repeat, how dare you.

    --EDIT:

Why even look at the ranks? It's clear that hardly anyone ever updates them. Try looking on the category names for the open positions next time.

Hiko is a girl.... x.x ...right now I'd call you a dumbass but I guess Hiko already made that clear...

Hiko's nice... when she wants to be. It's just common sense that since EX has been around for over 2 years that we'd already have a deputy. x.X Hiko will probably only get pissed off at you when you're being a complete Newbie.

*having problems focusing on the issue* Mossy... your avatar... it's so amusing. -watches, dazed-. Now back to the current issue here:

You should respect everyone, regardless of who it is - whether an average member or a staff member. You have disrupted my first impression of you because of how you are responding to any member. If somebody calls you stupid you should try to act high-and-mighty back, but you should try to see why they said that about you and fix the problem. Being aggressive and overly sensetive isn't good, especially on the internet. Not everybody is 100% welcoming at first and some people tolerate less than others. You should know that from the real world -- the only person you're hurting here is yourself from trying to be harsh back at Hiko-san. Just fix your problems -- we're used to overly emotional people coming onto our site and acting in this way and I'm not sure what you want from us.

I'm not going to reprimand Hiko-san for what she's done. It's the way she is and I respect her for it. Don't take things too personally over the internet and just learn to fix your mistakes on your own. I'm not your mother; I don't like new members coming to me, complaining about what someone did to them. You hafta learn to just go through life without coming to somebody for comfort because people aren't always going to be there for you.

In the rules also, I think I stated we only choose deputies IC-ly. Either way, when I join a site I carefully investigate for positions just to make sure if I'm trying to be a MedCatApprentice or something that it's truly available.

Just as a side note, I think there has already been a Leafpelt on this site if I'm not mistaken.

Now I won't be surprised if you say 'You guys are mean, I'm leaving this dumb site!' since so many people just run away after something negative happens. But still, I have some hope that you can correct yourself. I know we've hurt your feelings, but you need to learn how to cope if you're going to be okay in life. That's as much sympathy that I can give you right now.

[/gay monologue]

Well... looks like another one quit... o.o It's kind of hypocritical, though, Minty. You stated that "you should respect anyone on this site regardless of rank" and yet Hiko did not. You reprimanded Leafpelt for making a simple mistake, but no one is going to talk to Hiko for calling her stupid-- nice way to start off a site that people have been praising for months. After all, it doesn't say TC isn't accepting any new members. It just said "kits, apprentices" So you can't put all the blame on Leafpelt. Yes, I know she made the mistake of putting up "deputy" but it's been done before here as well on other sites. Minty, you were saying that you respected Hiko for talking down to a new member. And she didn't even provoke it!

You also stated that people have run away from here after something bad has happened. Who wouldn't?... People like joining a site that has kind admins. How would you like to join a highly acclamimed site, only to be pummeled for every mistake you have made? This site should be welcoming, and it's not the same anymore, which is why we're losing a lot more members than we were before.

-shrugs- I'm probably going to get banned for, gasp, registering a complaint! Wow, isn't that the worst thing nowadays. x_x I wouldn't be surprised, since members can't talk as freely nowadays without getting jumped by dozens of spazzy surpporters that can't see both sides of the story. Arrgh! I've been meaning to get this out for days. Oh well, this site isn't nearly as active with the new plot and all. I guess it wouldn't matter whether or not I'm going.

Edit;; But then again, I was already told that speaking out was not my place.

Waaaah! I love my smart Mossy. x3 I'm a very contradicting person. I confess that most of what I wrote about respect is what I kinda wished, seeing as I don't even respect everyone (as disappointed in myself as I am). I respect Hiko for her personality, although I don't like to see her treat new members like this, but um.. there's no way in heck I'm reprimanding her. ^^'''

I suppose I was a bit harsh and although I realized that after I posted and especially whenever you were stating the point in the cBox, I decided to pretend to be blind and not fix up my post. There's another problem with me, among other issues. But Mossy, right now I'm really happy with you. The way that you're voicing your opinion - and you're definitely right - makes me very happy. I want more members to do this. The joining board needs to be modified and all of that stuff as well, I know I know. But honestly, I've been drifting away from this site as well. I don't know if it's because I'm growing up or because it isn't fun when you have to wait for days for people to get on at the right time or post (believe me, I'm hypocritical with this statement, too! I don't get on and have a depleted muse much too often). But I'm losing faith in this, although I thought I'd never say that truthfully, but I just don't know what to do about the lack of interest. I guess this isn't the best board to discuss it on, but I still want to find a way to keep everyone excited and attentive. Oh, and Mossy, whoever told you speaking out was not your place ... screw them. Even if you made a post screaming at me and flaming about all of the negative things I'd done, I'd find some way to get through it because I really want more members doing this... I want everyone to feel involved and not feel like it's just 'follow-the-leader'. I want other members to have choices to pick things that will effect them. But, gah, now I feel like I'm straying too much from the original topic so I shall shut up now. ^-^

Well said Minty and Mossy. We'll probably attract more attention once we move, people are getting inactive because I don't think anyone wants to start anything right before we move and risk losing it, therefore less rping. We need to move, and we need to do it soon.

I know I'm not involved in this whole situation, but I have to state something I've noticed numerous times here on EX. Countless times I have seen members show their opinions on a subject and get bashed by other members for voicing their own opinions on a subject that is just in discussion. It's like as soon as one person disagrees with the other people in a thread it turns into this huge argument because people can't seem to respect and grasp that there are different views other members may have on a subject.

For instance, take Miracle in the brilliant thread Mossy made about why everyone disliked the NP series. She disagreed with all of us and suddenly got yelled at, though I must say that she did rant a little too harshly on our own opinions. I myself have been too afraid as of late to post in topics that have a little "debate" going on in them for fear that I will get yelled at for voicing an opinion that is different. For example, I thought about posting in this thread earlier because I disagreed with how this new member was treated, though I refrained because I thought some may take it as disrespecting Hiko. I do think, however, that jessa23 should have shown more respect to Hiko instead of calling her dumb and getting pissed off in response. Mossy's last post was exactly how I felt about this whole situation, and I'm glad that she had the bravery that I didn't possess quite yet to say it.

So basically what I am trying to say is that here on EX it sometimes seems like there isn't any freedom of speech; that it is just completely wrong to disagree with what someone else says. Like it seems for some people that it is a sin in their eyes to disagree with an admin's point of view. I don't want to provoke any arguments or anger anyone with this post, but I just feel that I needed to say all of this, no matter how stupid it all may sound.

I probably shouldn't be here, but I don't think I'm a newbie to roleplaying, just to this site :3 Indeed. I think Hiko was harsh, but in a good way. I do believe reading that deputies are chosen IC in the rules. And I luff Draco too! x33

You shouldn't call a staff member stupid...or anyone, for that matter. You're new here, lots of people don't take kindly to people who, right off the bat, call people stupid just because they're upset that the person who declined their bio told them why it was declined =\

Hm. I should probably go check if kits in RiverClan are okay...
